Talking about the story

Questions for reading together at home or in class.

  • Max’s show-and-tells always seem to go wrong. Have you ever felt nervous about doing something in front of other people? What helped?
  • When the blue thingy appears, Max wants to hide, but he steps forward and asks its name. What does being brave mean to you?
  • Moonbean calls Max a “pup of courage”. Who helps you feel brave?
  • If a shooting star landed in your room tonight, what would you hope to find?
  • Moonbean speaks in bubble-speak. Could you and a friend invent a secret language of your own?

We link to their sites rather than copying their work, so you always get their latest version and they get the credit. Each site has its own terms, and most are free for classroom and home use.
